Embedding images allow brands and site developers many opportunities to figure highly on search engine results pages (SERPs) by proper usage of image optimization SEO.     : Use a file name that contains the keywords for which you want to be found. In this example, the file name german-shepherd-dog.jpg would be a good idea. Separate the words with a hyphen.
  2. Alt text and title attribute

    : Use a descriptive Image Alt attribute text. It usually makes sense to use the same keywords that have been used for the file name. In the same way, you should use the Image Title attribute. In this example, the Image Alt and Title Attribute would be "German Shepherd Dog":

  2. Context

    : The textual content on the web page before and after the image also impacts the position of your image in Google's Image Search. Google’s image bot is believed to first look at your alt text and then match it to the rest of the text on your page. Thus, make sure these are related. In this example, the text "German Shepherd Dog" should appear close to the image.
  3. Image size

    : There is no ideal image size described anywhere in Google’s Guideline. Bigger images seem to get featured more often on Google's first result page. The bigger your image, the easier it is to get at the top of Google's regular result page. However, it’s been noticed, that images sized from 300×200 to 1200×900 pixels tend to perform the best. The general rule that applies here is that the image should be neither too big, nor too small, otherwise Google will consider them inconvenient for the users to view.

    : Optimize the rest of your web page for the chosen search term. If the complete web page has been optimized for a keyword then it is easier to get good listings for images that are on the page. Make sure that the image that you optimize for your keyword using image optimization SEO, also looks attractive. If no-one wants to click on the image then it won't help your website if the image can be found on Google's first result page.

    : Hotlinking is linking to somebody else’s content, so that the users visiting your site can load the piece of content DIRECTLY from the original poster’s server.
